This route has a little bit of everything and is honestly beautiful. Youâll visit Sychryd Falls, bag the trig on Moel Penderyn (the village made famous by its incredible whisky) before visiting Sgwd yr Eira - probably the most famous waterfall in Bannau Brycheiniog. The name translates to the âFall of Snowâ because of the way the water tumbles over the rocks above into the pool below.
Â
What makes this fall extra special is that you can actually walk behind this spectacular curtain. This path was formerly used by herdsmen moving their sheep and cattle from one side of the river to the other.
Â
And it wouldnât quite be the Brecon Beacons without a legend, supposedly the rocky gorge below Sgwd yr Eira is known as Devilâs Glen and is home to all kinds other-worldly folk including ghosts and fairies!
